Talakai Versus You And Them

Newcastle MC Talakai is back with a brand new track in the form of Me You Them Us.
The gritty track tells of Tala’s journey of grinding in the rap game to having found his recent, and deserved, successes.
As the tale of so many musicians, Tala found Them to be unsupportive and maybe even a little disdainful. So of course now with Australian tours under the belt and glowing music reviews, Them want to ride the wave. "So fuck you and fuck him, the bandwagon’s full” spits Tala and you can’t blame him.
And despite his recent accomplishments, Tala is keeping it real and knows the importance of working on his craft “And Imma keep working til there’s no list I’m left off”. Tala is not one to rest on his laurels unlike these part-time rappers.
Shot in a quiet, non-descript and dimly lit alleyway on a Newcastle night, the vision in the music video, shot by Jayden Brown Films, allows the seriousness and message of Tala’s tales to be the focus.
The slow, down tempo beat, produced by Yondo Beats, has a darkness and an eeriness to it, and coupled with Tala’s ferocious rhymes it really sends the message home. It’s Me versus You verse Them verse Us.

Talakai is no stranger to the rap game having been in the scene since his teens. Considered one of Newcastle’s most active and well-known Hip Hop artists, Talakai has been performing professionally since 2011.
In 2017, Tala independently released his sophomore mixtape Fire is Free to much fanfare and affirmative reviews, and the lead single Feel Better received over 10k views and airplay on Triple J and FBi radio.
