Last month dynamic Perth duo Otiuh dropped their sophomore release La Festa, and it is packed full with playful party anthems we'd expect from the pair.
With singles 21 and One For Me revealed in the lead up to the EP release, it was evident La Festa would explore a different vibe to their debut Cold Recreation but build on their sound of 808-influenced beats paired with raw acoustics and their memorable lyricism.
The 7-track EP features formidable fellow local Perth artists including femcee Hyclass spitting on short but sweet number Pause The Funk and breakthrough Hip Hop artist Mali Jo$e on popular single Smoke Break.
In an interview with Rappfox back in March, Jahemil stated the EP would be feature topics such as "night life, relationships (or things that aren’t relationships), travelling and even work life..." inspired by their collective lived experience.

A personal favourite track off the EP is track 6, Trippin'. The track has a slow low-key intro but the songs pace and energy picks up as the duo begins spitting their fierce bars. "I gotta get out of here, that's a priority, I got the fear, then I'm making moves, I'm wiling to choose, I'm spinning the news by keeping it loose, damn". Trippin' also features a simple but unforgettable hook that is perfectly layered with the big sound of the chorus. As per Otiuh's unique sound, the track features epic electric guitar strumming coupled with grand orchestral sounding waves and subtle African-inspired drums.
Alongside the drop of the EP, Otiuh released a double dose of mash up music videos, sharing visuals for tracks Pour It Up and Smoke Break starring Mali Jo$e as someone looking pretty close to my Mum's mechanic.
