No, it’s not over. The Stoops are back once again!

Following the release of If I Had a Kid earlier in the year, Perth Hip Hop group The Stoops has fired another warning shot from their long-awaited upcoming album Boom Cycle.

Are you the last person at the party? Can you never call it a night? Gripping tightly on to the good old days? Unable to admit it’s over?

It’s this relatable theme that fuels an emotional and reflective roller coaster ride of beats, rhymes and life. The icing on the cake comes in the form of additional vocals by none other than local legend Sarah Pellicano.

As the party dwindles and dissolves to reveal the barbarous realities of a morning sun, there will forever exist a sole survivor.
That party-climate denier unwilling to release his grasp from the merriment that has preceded.

Eventually life evolves beyond big nights and kick-ons. And in its undeniable wake, lives the most incredulous of individuals. Unwilling to retire the nostalgic romanticisms of an era long since abandoned by his peers. We all know this person and if you don’t, perhaps he is you.

Over an eerie and cinematic backdrop The Stoops cast a wide net of vivid storytelling to capture that bare, jarring moment of realisation that exists at the tail-end of every big night...

“to see the circus when the crowds are gone”.

It’s the silver glimmer of a disco ball being swallowed by the smoke-machine-mist of tomorrow. Beyond the surface, Over is a sobering lesson of impermanence. Not only the for the big nights, but the era in which they thrive.
