Perth based producer Analog, who has remained relatively unknown despite some seriously solid releases in 2019 + 2020, has released a new track titled Come To Your Senses with some local Hip Hop heavyweights.
The creation of Come To Your Senses was inspired by "all the craziness in the world today sometimes you just need to see through the darkness & come to your senses" and features singer Charlie-Moon Meader, Perth bred now Melbourne based rapper who is a frequent collaborator Strictly D.T and Johniepee, any up & comer who is gaining a huge following thanks to his lyrical skills.
The track itself is a simple but weighty traditional boom bap Hip Hop beat featuring a female vocal sample that I cannot pick... (nice work Analog!), typical of Analog's production style.
The rappers both provide insightful and scathing rhymes commenting on the state of play in today's world, Strictly D.T spits "covid robbing you of your pension, so you can leave nothing here for your infants" criticising the systems and structures affecting our futures, whilst Johniepee aims direct to the people "quick mouth, half a brain, never thinking about the future, only thinking about today", something I think we can all see happening in our society and maybe even within our own social circles. Charlie-Moon Meander's gritty voice offers the vocals for the chorus, merely repeating the lyrics sample, but providing a more earnest and almost alerting call to action.

The symbolism of accompanying single artwork, which features the skyline of Perth city upside down in a pill-shaped bubble, is reminiscent of a lot of the community's thoughts and feelings following world events of late, how we're affected in Perth and is perhaps prophetic of things to come.
