So after a 5-week escape in the UK and Europe, Rappfox is back and here with the latest in Perth hip hop of late. And damn, a lot has been happening and has been missed. Sorry, not sorry.

Soooooo…

Bitter Belief and Rob Shaker finally released their collaboration album, Beastmode. The lead up to the album drop saw the release of the first single, The Dharma, an Indian-inspired beat, Battleships Part 2, follow up to the Battleships single off Bitter’s The Tour Guide mixtape from 2012, and the comical Hot Sauce music video. Interview with Shaker coming soon!

Azmatik dropped a music video for his That’s the Truth track featuring a little G, gangsta for the uninitiated. The song is produced by Hayze Beats, AKA Paulie P, who also appears in the music video that is filmed/edited by Joshua Tyler Kent Mcgreavey. The rapper drops some menacing battle raps in the song, it’s fierce. Can someone please confirm who this child is?

Marksman Lloyd is back – smiley face. Well it seems that way as he’s dropped another video. This time a one-minute 80’s stylised video with rhymes over the Childish Gambino Redbone beat. His rhymes commenting on society’s superficiality. Hoping we will hear more from the rapper soon, I’m guessing so?

Bluntfield is always doing something and hats off to him, cos I know the guy really likes to smoke weed. Soon he is releasing The Jan Michael Vincent mixtape (great release name, apparently also a great American actor?) and has dropped music video for the first single off the tape, Loser.

Another local emcee who always seems to be up to something, Macshane has also dropped a teaser for his music video for Meant to Do, the WAM 2017 Hip Hop Song of the Year. Based on the teaser, the music video may actually outwit Beckon’s Dam That’s Refreshing video. Nothing could possibly beat Jake’s dad tho. To be continued…

It’s music videos galore as Mr Grevis has released the full music video (thank you, enough with the teasers guys) for Hero featuring Talia Hart, which is from his soon to be released final album Game Over.

Finally, the Australian DMC DJ Championships is coming up in Australia. The Perth heat is at Universal Bar on Sunday 27th August. Bace Kadet will be back to defend his title with some newcomers battling. Entry will be $10 on the door. More info out soon.
